You have to get this book. My Mom gave it to me for Mothers day. It is so uplifting. It makes me feel (if only for the few minutes a day I have to read) that what I do as a mother matters. It's really great, and Jane Clayson Johnson is, too. She's got all kinds of cool stories about when she worked for CBS and ABC.
Here is a quote from the book by Ann Crittenden;
"The more skillful the caregiver, the more invisible her efforts become. Ideally, the recipients themselves don't even notice that they are being cared for, other than to accept caring as part of the natural order of things...Like the work of a fine seamstress, the tiny stitches that build character and confidence are invisible to the eye".
How true! Even though I have a great husband and a daughter who's (usually) willing to help with what she can, it does often feel like my efforts are invisible.
I recommend the book. Pick one up for your mother, too!

10:32 PMThanks for the recommendation. If I ever start reading something more than 7 pages again, this will definitely be on my list!
